The Mont Ventoux in Vaucluse

Okay, it's not in Ardèche, but that doesn't mean we can see it from almost all our mountains, and especially from Courry which is next to Mas g'Ardéchois! So we can tell you "look, it's Mont Ventoux"... a little white bump that blends in with the clouds. So I'm going to show it to you, because I hiked it with a group of friends and family.

Mont Ventoux is the highest mountain in the Rhône valley, and its pride; It dominates the region and is visible from everywhere. In winter, it is even snowy, a sign for the natives that it was very cold last night. “Oh, did you see? It snowed in Ventoux, it’s cold, eh?”

So, here it is, from here, and from there.

Here is what Avignon-et-provence.com says about it

"Swept violently by the winds, Mont Ventoux is the highest peak in Vaucluse (84). Capped with a white crest which gives it the illusion of eternal snow, its highest peak rises to 1912m.

From its summit, and in good weather, there is a 360° view from the Alps to the Mediterranean Sea, from the Écrins massifs to those of the Cévennes, from the Sainte-Victoire mountain to the Alpilles via the Etang de Berre and return towards the Rhône valley.

At its feet, the plain of Comtat Venaissin and the hillsides of Ventoux follow the lavender-covered plateaus of the Sault region, before cooling off in the Toulourenc valley.
