Auberge du Pont de Chambonas « Chez Jeanne et Raphaël»

Right next to Les Vans, in Chambonas and about fifteen km from Mas g'Ardéchois, there is a magnificent castle. It's not open for tours, but they say it might be soon. Anyway you can admire it from the entrance gate and believe me, it is worth the detour. At the bottom of the street, at the intersection of the large narrow bridge over the Chassezac, there is a small bar restaurant which, casually, has a chef, Jeanne, who can rival those in the big restaurants. His sweetbreads are lickable on all five fingers and thumbs. The owner, Raphaël, a warm and very professional man, will delight you with his impeccable service and kindness. We go there often, feasting in advance on this traditional southern cuisine. Rated 5 stars on Google,
